From Hotel to Smart Resort: How Agentic AI is Redefining the Leisure Industry
Agentic AI is gaining momentum in the leisure and hotel industry – now also at Cocoon Hotels. The Munich-based group is migrating all nine properties to an open API platform, creating the foundation for AI agents that automate routine tasks, link data in real time, and enable personalized guest experiences. What is already productive in hotels today will also shape amusement parks and resorts tomorrow – from dynamic pricing to fully automated booking and service processes.
2025
In 2025, a bomb threat led to a half-day closure of the site – a first in Wiesn history.
The Oktoberfest 2025 in Munich experienced a dramatic moment: Due to a bomb threat, the grounds were closed for several hours. Visitors had to be evacuated, and police and bomb experts thoroughly searched the Wiesn area.
Fortunately, the threat turned out to be a false alarm – no bomb was found! The festival was able to continue in time. Such incidents show how important security measures are.
Despite the scare, it is thanks to the excellent Munich police that the Wiesn remains a safe place and thus a highlight for festival fans.
